The Common Bond

I've seen a couple of videos from this Gentleman, and I have to say that getting back to a more conservative, common bond doesn't sound like a bad idea. Why is everyone so gung-ho to change this? The Presidents platform of "Hope and Change" wasn't to change America as a whole....did it? If it did, I totally missed that one, and don't want anything to do with it.

Something else that comes up is that I can't afford to pay for all of these government programs and reforms. All of this change is going to cost us, and all of this cost is going to be paid for by the tax paying Americans, not the immigrant, not the below the poverty line American, no its the screwed middle class and above who is stuck with the tab.

If we are so concerned with feeding and providing for the poor, why don't we drastically reduce our foreign aid. Since our foreign policy is so bad anyway, why bother giving money to countries that don't appreciate it or that misappropriates it?

Since we are in such financial difficulty why doesn't another more sound financial country take on the burden of the World? I'll tell you what I feel is the reason they don't, self preservation, they are looking out for number one.

Finally, what's so wrong with feeling or thinking "America first"? Someone has too.

When Obama was talking about change, and most of the population fell for it, I had no Ideal that it was going to lead to Czars and government takeover of companies.

With a major deficit in the Trillions why bring in more government employees, and especially when these employees have incredibly high salaries? More government is counter-productive and not what our fore-fathers intended.

With that in mind, listen to this speech from President R. Reagan as he tells us who works for who. See below.

In my opinion I don't want the government running the companies that I deal with to purchase anything, they (government) can't even run themselves at a profit so why mess with the business world. I don't feel all of the American car companies were ran as defective as GM, Ford seems to be dealing with its situation fairly well or at least the media hasn't been reporting much about them. Another thing is why would the government takeover some financial institutions, just because it had the money to loan them? Why I ask that as a question is because how can you loan money when you owe soooo much. Also why should I then have any faith that our health care would be run properly?

I for one am very nervous for what the future holds for Americans.

Last weekend we went to Selfridge ANG Base in MI to see the airshow. The US Air Force Thunderbirds were performing. Those pilots are truly amazing. We all loved the show. This is not footage from that actual show but from another Thunderbirds performance in Kansas City. The person videotaping does his/her best to video the action. It isn't like being there, but it does give you a sense of how truly talented these men and women of our armed forces are. As a citizen of this great country, I encourage all americans to go to an airshow that is showcasing our armed forces. Show them your support!!!!

Things are looking a little bleak on the full time job front. Here in Michigan we are staring at a 12+% unemployment rate, and after this GM bankruptcy on Monday it could get as high as 19-20%. It is a sad and scary time for us with young kids. My pay has been cut three times in the past two and a half years...this time was a 40% cut for a total of 52% in two and a half years...

My wife is being a great supporter and is going to be looking for a job herself, but it's the kids that I feel for. My goal was for them to have it better than I did, to have things I didn't when I was young. Not that it was my Mom's fault, she did the very best she could being a single parent, so it really means a lot to me to give my kids the best I can.

On another note, its fairly exciting to get away from a job I have disliked for 4 of the 7 years I have been there, but honestly there are no jobs available so I have to suck-it-up for a bit longer.

We have a family vacation coming up in a week or so and I have to say I don't feel very good about going, I mean any money spent is just going to make things that much harder no matter how much my parents are springing for. Its like added guilt, shame, whatever you call it, it just doesn't sit very well. I know my parents will say things like it will be ok, it will all turn out for the best, the same old stuff that never makes you feel any better ever.

All right, I'm done whining. I do know that there are a lot of people out there who have it much harder than I do, but its all relative to your situation and right now my situation seems like a tough one for me.

Feeling rather political today. Just got my NRA membership card in the mail too. So it seemed natural for me to go in the direction of gun control. It is vitally important to the freedoms of the American citizen (notice I didn't say people, too many aren't citizens but want our rights anyway), to vocalize strongly that the right to bare arms is an amendment that should never be challenged or restricted in any way. The liberals in government want you to believe that they just want to ban assault rifles but guess what?, ALL semi-automatic guns can be considered assault guns on some level if the liberals try hard enough. Ok, so maybe ignorant is a little harsh. But let's call a spade a spade then shall we... Why on earth does the liberal media and the liberals in congress keep trying to make this country into a communist or at the very least socialist country? And an even bigger question is why do we level headed americans (read republicans), just stand here with our jaws wide open, staring in disbeilf but not finding ways to get this counrty back to having a moral conscience. This video shows that George Bush tried to warn Congress in 2002 that this economic crisis was coming, if something was not done. But congress refused to listen, along with Barney Franks. This video says it all.

Also that the liberal AMERICAN media did not want this video on You Tube, so they had Time Warner threaten a law suit (proprietary rights) if it was not taken off.

Come things parents shouldn't have said. As the proud parent of a 5 year old and a 3 1/2 year old, I realize no truer saying exists. This knowledge only comes to me by way of experience of course.

For an example, do yourself a favor and change the name of the stores you frequent if you don't want the world to know your shopping habits. My 5 year old loves to let everyone she encounters know that mommy's favorite store is Champagnes wine shoppe. This revelation is over-emphasized to her Grandparents on both sides of course. "Mommy", she says, "We need to go to Champagnes, we are out of wine." Both children are so comfortable there that they now love to go use the bathroom of said store when we are shopping. Of course no trip would be complete without sharing that tidbit of information to the cashier. I am sure she was thrilled to know my 3 1/2 year old went 2 big poo-poos. He was more than happy to tell her that, and she was truly excited (pick up on the sarcasm please) to hear all about it. He is also very willing to let you know that Optimus Prime is on his butt (He's a transformer for those of you that don't know what I am talking about.) He will drop trow to show you the underwear too. You don't even have to ask. Of course this prompts 5 year old to let you know that she has on Princess underwear.

I dread the day the 5 year old walks in on Mommy and Daddy playing "hide the bratwurst" (German heritage shining through in that saying huh?). She will probably take out an ad in the New York Times to ensure she doesn't miss telling anyone.

The 3 year old is actually the worst offender of inappropriate behavior. Just the other day he was looking at his trains and said f...(rhymes with truck), d...(rhymes with ram) look at this mess! Flash to the scene in A Christmas Story when Ralphie says the queen mother of all dirty words...That was my reaction. Or another example, We were out to dinner with Grandma, Daddy, Mommy and both kids. 3 1/2 year old need to go potty. Daddy takes him and when they came back to the table, 3 year old announces that Daddy has a big penis. (Daddy never looked prouder).

For anyone who never saw A Christmas Story, first off, "What the hell is wrong with you, go rent that movie." Secondly, enjoy the clip.

As the parent of a 5 year old and a 3 1/2 year old, Christmas will be a blast this year, right? So why is it already driving me crazy and it is only the middle of November. My 5 year old wants a pizza maker. But not for "real" pizza, for pretend pizza. Doesn't that sound awesome? (Are you picking up on the sarcasm?) She can't wait to tell Santa. And I can't wait to have endless pizza making sessions and pretend to eat that yummy plastic pizza with only half of the pieces because surely we will lose some or the dog will eat them,(now she truly likes to eat plastic anything). But it is the only thing she wants when you ask her so Santa can't disappoint. (As her parent I am sure there will be plenty of time for me to do that in her life). As for the 3 year old, well, he doesn't understand that what Max has on the Max and Ruby cartoon, isn't real. So naturally, he wants a red robot that says "I am a robot". But the problem there is, that no such robot exists because it's a freaking' cartoon!!!! He can't wait to tell Santa and Santa can't wait to crush his dream. So in the true spirit of the holiday, my mother-in-law goes on a quest to find a red robot. Finds one, believe it or not, and the damn thing cost $75 bucks!!!! That's right $75 bucks. Naturally it does more than say "I am a robot", in fact I don't know if it says that at all, which may be the deal breaker for him. But even so, my ever so wonderful (read: spoiled by Grandma,)son, will be getting his red robot from Santa, and my daughter will be getting her pizza maker. I found this article in The Atlantic monthly magazine and was amazed at just how flawed the TSA (transportation safety administration) really is. The author took alot of risks and sometimes was blatantly obvious and still never got caught. And as a contact lense wearer, you never need two hugh bottles of saline for a trip. The College Football season is just around the corner, and I found this game that I remember very well, it is one of my all-time favorite Michigan teams.

Driving in my car today listening to the radio. Not really listening actually, but just background noise. Well as it turns out my 4 1/2 year old is LISTENING to it!!! So when Eric Clapton asks Sally to lay down... Naturally, my daughter wants to know why. "Well to go to sleep of course", I tell her. Change station at that moment only to have Lita Ford tell us she didn't get laid at her party Saturday night. OK!!!Thanks for the info. Now how about easy listening stations you ask? Well I wish I could say that there were any other songs on at that time but no, just a commercial. So on goes the CD that is in the player and lucky me, I get to listen to Mickey Mouse and pals AGAIN!!!! However, as I am driving along, I find myself tapping my thumb to some of the tunes. So to any of you parents out there who actually have learned to enjoy kids music... This is for you...

Well at first I wasn't going to share this story, mainly because I truly dislike this ass, and now I dislike his off-spring.

Patrick Roy's kid is a goaltender (Jonathon Roy) just like dear old dad. Also Patrick Roy coaches Jonathon's team. Well little Roy got into a fight, not just a fight sticking up for himself or his teammates, but this little ass went looking for someone to fight with even if the other guy was turning the cheek or flat out didn't raise his hands when attacked.

The video is pretty sickening and just shows what kind of impact your actions have on your kids, and when watching the video you can see "dad" with what looks like a look of approval.

Who knows what kind of discipline this kid received when he was growing up, but we do know that his wife received a lot of discipline.

This may be old to some of you, but it was a great video that I had to share if someone hasn't seen it.

On Dr. Pausch's site he updates us by telling us he is still doing very well. Now, with that said I should probably explain.

Dr. Pausch is dying of Pancreatic Cancer which has spread, and he was given three months to live. That was six months ago.

This video is not to bring you down, it does the opposite. The video brings up a question, and my question is...Why do we wait until we or someone we know is dying before we do something like this or listen to someone like this? Why does the outcome have to be extreme for people to listen or to do something? Don't get me wrong I am just like everyone else, but with this video on here atleast I can come back and refer to it when I start slacking off on things like a sincere apology.

No! I don't watch Oprah! This video is the shorter version. the full length video is over an hour and I can't see you people sitting still long enough to watch the enitre video, but you can find it on youtube of Google videos if you are so inclined.
