The Economy Sucks!

Things are looking a little bleak on the full time job front. Here in Michigan we are staring at a 12+% unemployment rate, and after this GM bankruptcy on Monday it could get as high as 19-20%. It is a sad and scary time for us with young kids. My pay has been cut three times in the past two and a half years...this time was a 40% cut for a total of 52% in two and a half years...

My wife is being a great supporter and is going to be looking for a job herself, but it's the kids that I feel for. My goal was for them to have it better than I did, to have things I didn't when I was young. Not that it was my Mom's fault, she did the very best she could being a single parent, so it really means a lot to me to give my kids the best I can.

On another note, its fairly exciting to get away from a job I have disliked for 4 of the 7 years I have been there, but honestly there are no jobs available so I have to suck-it-up for a bit longer.

We have a family vacation coming up in a week or so and I have to say I don't feel very good about going, I mean any money spent is just going to make things that much harder no matter how much my parents are springing for. Its like added guilt, shame, whatever you call it, it just doesn't sit very well. I know my parents will say things like it will be ok, it will all turn out for the best, the same old stuff that never makes you feel any better ever.

All right, I'm done whining. I do know that there are a lot of people out there who have it much harder than I do, but its all relative to your situation and right now my situation seems like a tough one for me.

Guns!! We need em'.

Feeling rather political today. Just got my NRA membership card in the mail too. So it seemed natural for me to go in the direction of gun control. It is vitally important to the freedoms of the American citizen (notice I didn't say people, too many aren't citizens but want our rights anyway), to vocalize strongly that the right to bare arms is an amendment that should never be challenged or restricted in any way. The liberals in government want you to believe that they just want to ban assault rifles but guess what?, ALL semi-automatic guns can be considered assault guns on some level if the liberals try hard enough. I am including a video from one of my favorite political you-tube personalities. Check out more of his videos. He is very light-hearted, and insightful yet very serious about the direction this country is going. And let me tell you, it isn't going in a good direction.

I have been bested by my Asian Counter-part! This Japanese guy can get dressed in a suit, and eat breakfast in under 5 mins. I thought my time of 11 mins. including shower, minus eating was pretty good. Watch the way he ties his tie, pretty impressive.

President Obama is focusing on legal gun rights and making restrictions on certain types and makes of guns, rifles, and the amount of ammo in ones possession. Sure that can all make sense in certain situations, but not a general blanket law across the board. Ask a criminal what scares them the most when they are "working", and the answer will almost always be "Breaking into a home where the home owner may be armed", that's enough for me to keep my arms.

Legends Golf & Safari Resort

This is a must see golf hole. When I first read the story at *Sbs I couldn't believe it, then I saw the video below. Golf is expensive enough, but a helicopter must just crush a round of 18 with a cart price wise.
