Clearing up the Confusion on "Assault Rifles"
With the current state of our Second Amendment at risk, this former Police Officer takes a few minutes to properly explain some basic differences on the full-auto rifle and semi-auto rifles.
He tries to encourage people to be educated on the subject and not so emotionally charged when they hear the media use the buzz words like "Fully Automatic Assault Rifle".

Dog saves his own
Video appears to be Spanish and there is no captioning or subtitles.
So I'm watching this video, and its sad of course, but if you stick with it you will see something that I have never seen, and didn't realize even existed. A dog saves another dogs life! Well we don't know if the injured dog survived or not. Some pretty amazing video!

Ahh!!! Christmas!!!!!
As the parent of a 5 year old and a 3 1/2 year old, Christmas will be a blast this year, right? So why is it already driving me crazy and it is only the middle of November. My 5 year old wants a pizza maker. But not for "real" pizza, for pretend pizza. Doesn't that sound awesome? (Are you picking up on the sarcasm?) She can't wait to tell Santa. And I can't wait to have endless pizza making sessions and pretend to eat that yummy plastic pizza with only half of the pieces because surely we will lose some or the dog will eat them,(now she truly likes to eat plastic anything). But it is the only thing she wants when you ask her so Santa can't disappoint. (As her parent I am sure there will be plenty of time for me to do that in her life). As for the 3 year old, well, he doesn't understand that what Max has on the Max and Ruby cartoon, isn't real. So naturally, he wants a red robot that says "I am a robot". But the problem there is, that no such robot exists because it's a freaking' cartoon!!!! He can't wait to tell Santa and Santa can't wait to crush his dream. So in the true spirit of the holiday, my mother-in-law goes on a quest to find a red robot. Finds one, believe it or not, and the damn thing cost $75 bucks!!!! That's right $75 bucks. Naturally it does more than say "I am a robot", in fact I don't know if it says that at all, which may be the deal breaker for him. But even so, my ever so wonderful (read: spoiled by Grandma,)son, will be getting his red robot from Santa, and my daughter will be getting her pizza maker. Isn't that what Christmas is all about really? (more sarcasm) On that note, enjoy this clip from a favorite Christmas movie of mine. (I have several favorite Christmas movies sadly). And by the look of this post, a little too much caffine today.

Travel at your own risk in th US.
I found this article in The Atlantic monthly magazine and was amazed at just how flawed the TSA (transportation safety administration) really is. The author took alot of risks and sometimes was blatantly obvious and still never got caught. And as a contact lense wearer, you never need two hugh bottles of saline for a trip. Not to mention you can buy saline ANYWHERE. So this is an obvious f-up in my book. You will need to copy link into your browser, but I think it is a worthwhile read. Read on to understand what the heck I mean...

U of M '98 Great Team
The College Football season is just around the corner, and I found this game that I remember very well, it is one of my all-time favorite Michigan teams.
I have a feeling this years team my need some luck, and some pretty big breaks. With all of the Rick Rod controversy, and the leaving of some key talent, Michigan may have a hard time pulling-off a Big Ten Championship...very hard time.
Ah yes, the good old days.

Music for the parent trap
Driving in my car today listening to the radio. Not really listening actually, but just background noise. Well as it turns out my 4 1/2 year old is LISTENING to it!!! So when Eric Clapton asks Sally to lay down... Naturally, my daughter wants to know why. "Well to go to sleep of course", I tell her. Change station at that moment only to have Lita Ford tell us she didn't get laid at her party Saturday night. OK!!!Thanks for the info. Now how about easy listening stations you ask? Well I wish I could say that there were any other songs on at that time but no, just a commercial. So on goes the CD that is in the player and lucky me, I get to listen to Mickey Mouse and pals AGAIN!!!! However, as I am driving along, I find myself tapping my thumb to some of the tunes. So to any of you parents out there who actually have learned to enjoy kids music... This is for you...

Korea's DMZ aka Truce Village
Now I have heard of this site, but I have never seen what it actually looks like. Could you imagine having the job of staring the enemy down for hours at a time?
The Joint Security Area (JSA), often called the "Truce Village" in both the media and various military accounts,is the only portion of the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) where South and North Korean forces stand face-to-face. The section is reserved between the two Koreas for diplomatic engagements, and until March 1991 was also the site of military negotiations between North Korea and the United Nations Command (UNC). The Joint Security Area is located at 37°N, 126°E lying within the village of Panmunjom.

Nut doesn't fall far from the tree
Well at first I wasn't going to share this story, mainly because I truly dislike this ass, and now I dislike his off-spring.
Patrick Roy's kid is a goaltender (Jonathon Roy) just like dear old dad. Also Patrick Roy coaches Jonathon's team. Well little Roy got into a fight, not just a fight sticking up for himself or his teammates, but this little ass went looking for someone to fight with even if the other guy was turning the cheek or flat out didn't raise his hands when attacked.
The video is pretty sickening and just shows what kind of impact your actions have on your kids, and when watching the video you can see "dad" with what looks like a look of approval.
Who knows what kind of discipline this kid received when he was growing up, but we do know that his wife received a lot of discipline.

A video that is Inspiring and Honest
This may be old to some of you, but it was a great video that I had to share if someone hasn't seen it.
On Dr. Pausch's site he updates us by telling us he is still doing very well. Now, with that said I should probably explain.
Dr. Pausch is dying of Pancreatic Cancer which has spread, and he was given three months to live. That was six months ago.
This video is not to bring you down, it does the opposite. The video brings up a question, and my question is...Why do we wait until we or someone we know is dying before we do something like this or listen to someone like this? Why does the outcome have to be extreme for people to listen or to do something? Don't get me wrong I am just like everyone else, but with this video on here atleast I can come back and refer to it when I start slacking off on things like a sincere apology.
No! I don't watch Oprah! This video is the shorter version. the full length video is over an hour and I can't see you people sitting still long enough to watch the enitre video, but you can find it on youtube of Google videos if you are so inclined.

Mixed & Edited Speech from President Reagan
Man, I first saw this on hotair.com, and thought to myself President Ronald Reagan was a true genuine visionary, who could deliver a speech like no other. The emotion he shows at the end of this video just makes you do that squint thing with your eyes like you just can't belive that the leader of the free world is that open and passionate about his country and his feelings for it.
Some may say "acting", I call bullshit on that, I just don't see it, but if I'm being snowed or fooled so be it. Bravo President Reagan.
This is one of those cases where we should reconsider cloning.

Jihadi Hangout
If you don't joke about it, it will piss-you-off and drive you crazy!
On a side note, did we all forget about our soldiers? My company sent me to St. Louis MO. for a business trip, and while at the Airport I didn't see anyone shaking hands and thanking our soldiers for their sacrifice. These men and women are doing an amazing job protecting us, and putting their lives on the line for our "taking granted of" freedoms.
I'm no one special, but for the three soldiers that I did see in the airport, I did shake their hands and look them in the eyes and said "thank you", they knodded, smiled, and we parted ways. Its just that easy, and you absolutely make their day, and give them the respect they deserve, and a feeling that its not all a waste of life...not a waste of their life.

Hero Rescue
The beginning of this clip you can hear one of the Pilots saying to the other helicopter pilot that his blades are pretty close to the mountain as he is trying to get close enough to rescue the soldiers and drop in their medic.
As the video goes on the radio chatter is about how many heroes were lifted, and finally confirm three heroes recovered. Its that kind of respect that these guys and gals have for one another that impresses me the most. If you ask me they are all heroes, it takes a lot of guts to put your chopper that close to the side of a mountain and possibly risk damage or injury to get all of our men and women out of danger.
The story has a sad twist. Several soldiers were lost before this rescue, see link at the bottom of video for the whole story.
Much respect to all of our fighting men and women! Witness uncommon Valor below.
The video and the rest of the sad story here:

Weather Change
We woke up this morning in Michigan and most of the state was 60 degrees(f), that's strange because it was just 19 degrees(f) the day before. Well I don't know about you, but that sudden weather change does crazy things to my sinuses so I had to double-up on Allegra, nose spray, and Tylenol. It made me think of this song in the video below.
